I just got my present for my BDay from my BF Tete yesterday-the movie "Rebecca". It's an older one made from the book "Rebecca" by Daphne Du Maurier. Set back in the 1930's, it's a story of romance, suspense, and jealousy. If you haven't seen this movie(or read the book-it's better!), it would be a good viewing for the wintertime. I chose this book to read for an Honor's English class I had in high school because I thought it was cool that it had my name. Little did I know until I read the book that "Rebecca" in the book was evil. Since I don't want to ruin the book for you-I'll leave it at that-Happy viewing or reading-I'm sure you'll like it! Thanks Tete!
My sister's two girls in their new pink castle tent(mostly for the little one). It has a little pink flag on the top and folds down into a tiny little bag for storage. I hope they'll bring it camping this spring-it would look cute outside my pink camper!
This Christmas Eve at work we got to wear jeans, tennis shoes and holiday shirts. My friend Rachel and I with our Santa hats on! Mine is pink(of course!) I have to show you my pink Santa boots.................
Christmas Morning-Love that fireplace-had to have something for Santa come! Do you see the pink stove? I asked my mom if we still had it(probably not). She kept some of our dolls-but I'll be getting into the attic this spring to see if I can find it(you all know I need another pink stove(I also bought one on my birthday this month!)
I think I really liked it-so guess what-if I can't find it in the attic-the hunts on -my favorite thing to do!
Anyway-Wishing you all a Very Merry Pink Saturday Christmas!
I hope everyone can take the time this Christmas season to really think about why we celebrate the season. Of course, I'm really talking to myself mostly. Working retail can really take the focus out of the birth of Jesus Christ. Usually I try to go to several church services and to help decorate the church. For some reason this year(excuses are not good enough) I haven't done any of that. I always try to make it to a Christmas Eve service also-but again -work will take precedence. So I'm spending some time this morning thinking about the best gift that was ever given! Merry Christmas to you all and Happy Birthday Jesus! Several years ago(junior high?) -I played Mary in a church play.
I used to put my little house around a white glass conservatory that I have and some inside, but this year I decided to do what Martha Stewart did a few years ago in her magazine. I picked this cool stand up at a store closing a couple of years ago at a garage sale and knew it would be perfect for displaying my little houses. It still needs some finessing-but it will do for this year!Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!!
Went to the Dollar General on Sunday and found these cute pink ornaments to decorate my office tree-and they were 25% off $1.00 can't beat that! Went back on Monday to buy more and they were 50% off-and I bought these~!
This is another mess of Christmas stuff I keep under a glass cake dish in my office. Some snow, pink and silver snowflake garland and this pink silent night christmas ornament. My office is not big-just weird shaped!
I had forgot I had this sweet little box in my office at work. It's up on a shelf hidden from my view. I think I bought it from Target a few years ago and it's just a cute little size with fun pink trees!
I have a few vintage ornaments I keep in my office in a antique glass pedestal dish. They just give me that extra little Christmas uplift when I'm tired of being in the commercialism of retail. I like the little plastic domes with figures in them and also that green shaped one that looks like a merry-go-round!
Well I have two more additions to my collection of antique baby stockings!!!!! I was so excited yesterday when my hubby took my antiquing for my B-day and these stockings I saw over a year and a half ago were still there(they were kinda expensive-maybe that's why). But hey-we only have a birthday once a year and my hubby said get them-and I was going to anyway-that's one reason I wanted to go back to this mall!!!! They were waiting for me and to join there new home! They're very heavy and the dealer's card said they were from Pennsylvania. Next year I'm going to have to come up with a fun way to display them all-any idea? I though maybe a baby mantle to put them all on??? This is the pic I showed for the Second Hand collection at Tete's Beyond the Garden Gate's Party!
I was born on December 14th around 8:30 pm-the first daughter of my parents -Harold and Brenda. I was two weeks over-due and came out breech-that's what I thought of this world. My parents should have know then what was too come!!! They placed me under their christmas tree that first year!
Every Saturday for the month of December we have a color theme-today was silver Saturday. I wore my grey/silver dress with my silver glitter heels(they look like Dorothy shoes). I got to model jewelry at work(hince the all the extra bracelets and necklaces-but I sold a bunch!). I really liked the silver and pink necklaces that I had on! My hose were fishnets with silver glitter in them too!
Two great combos-pink and stockings-I think these are so cute and have been collecting them(when I see them!) for the last several years-even little babies need a stocking hung by the fireplace(like they did in the old days-took off they're own to hang up!). I'll be adding this to Tete-Beyond the Garden Gate's (http://tete-beyondthegardengate.blogspot.com) Second Hand Collection Party for this Sunday along with another huge stocking collection I'll post on my Ella Maes Barn Gathering Blog-so come on over and join the fun-remember a collection is only 3 items!
A co-worker of mine bought this for me last year-he had only known me for 2 months-but I thought it was the cutest stocking I'd ever seen-and how insightful that he picked one out with a high heel (I have a real pair of boots that looks a lot like this!)
I bought a pair of antique stockings at an antique store last week for $4.50. They're my favorite stockings for hanging on the mantle(if I did-which I don't because we have a wood burning stove and my husband won't let me)-but sometimes I hang them on the stairway banister. I have a collection of them(started when I was decorating the Rutherford House) because that is what they used to use in the 1800's-their own socks-and they sometimes would hang them on the end of their bed. I like to add things that they might have been given-this is a ladies stocking-so I've added a book titled The Secret to a Happy Life, a gold fold-up hair comb, a rhinestone hair comb, a round sequined hair pin, antique talcom powder and a silver clothing brush. It's fun to find things to put in them-you'll be seeing the entire collection on Sunday at the Second Hand Collection Party on Tete's Beyond the Garden Gate's Blog. Since I don't put a tree up in the house-I decided to put one up in my office. I actually have had this tree in there because a co-worker borrowed it to use as a money tree-where you clip money to it for showers. I found some decorations I had picked up over the last few years and don't use at home(I guess I bought them because they were pink!) and decided to take them to work. I know it's crazy-but I really don't use any pink in my home-even though it's my favorite color! I still have a few things to add to the tree-but it brings a little whimsical cheer to my office! The clock pics(there are four total) I put up when I first got the job of HR manager-I thought it was need since I managed all the time punches.
Went to the nursing home today to visit my grandma-Ella Mae and take her these pink balloons. Even though she can't see very well-I know she likes balloons and was pleased. We're hoping that she is doing better and will get to go home soon!
We're doing sparkle Sunday at work-which is trying to get everyone to wear sparkly clothing-even though I'm wearing sparkles every day-I have to be even more sparkly on Sundays-so my sweater is silver with sparkles, dress -major sparkles and shoes -silver sparkles again!
Well-since I don't get to the holiday parties-I dress up every day in the month of December-wearing, as I mentioned in an earlier post, something with glitter. Today I had on my black glitter shoes and black glitter shrug. Today, everyone was supposed to wear red-and I always wear this dress-but everyone kept saying it was pink. It's a pinkish-red I guess-I was teased all day!
How many pairs of pink glittery shoes does one girl need? As many as she wants-I say-speaking from a shoe whore(with over 300 pairs). Do I wear these?-the answer is YES-and every day for the month of December you'll see me with my glitter on-it's my way to make my day more fun(and bearable) and the customers love it! A fun Way to Rock in the Season!
I got the last part of my christmas gift from my BF Tete today-these very cute baby mittens ( I collect them-I've got so many-I'll be posting them in January for Tete's Second Hand Collection!), but these are trimmed in pink and I love them-thanks Girl! I'm linking up to Vintage Thingie Thursday at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/
This is the little stocking-just big enough for a lipstick-which is what it was intended for-it came from Bath and Body works a few years ago. I have it hanging on a magnetic board on the back of my office door-so cute!
