Rainbow Ribbon

I found this wonderful vintage ribbon at the thrift store weeks ago. My BF Tete is making some pretty neat flowers with old lace http://tete-beyondthegardengate.blogspot.com/2011/02/my-afternoon-projects.html. Wish I could think of something fun to do with this. It's raining cats and dogs out there tonight. Electricity has been off three times in just a couple of hours. This ribbon reminds me of the rainbow God always sends after the rain! Pink Animal Print

Yesterday we did a theme day at work-animal prints, and since February is my month to wear red/pink I had to find a pink animal print to wear. I grabbed this off the children's rack for only $.80 and paired it with my pink Mary Jane shoes!

Story Box

I picked up this neat little box at an antique store a few months back. I loved the graphic on the top and the soft faded pink of the bottom. And the inside was wonderful with all these silver stars! So I'm filling it up with all my little stars!

Pink Kitty Cat Jewelry Box

I've had this little jewelry box for several years but never put anything in it. Don't know why-I guess it's because it is kinda delicate-meaning light weight and fragile. It is a sweet little piece though!

A Pink Skull Tattoo for Grams

A girl at work gave some of us tattoo valentines. I stuck mine in my purse to put on my grandma. I'm trying to make the time we spend together fun for her. She's not talking much anymore-of course-I talk enough for us both-but am trying to listen more and be patient. Last nite was Family Nite at the nursing home and her husband and I went. I really had a great time. They had a great entertainer with kerokee music. He tried to get me to sign twice-but I'm a little shy in that department, but I loved singing along(Patsy Cline, George Strait, Josh Turner songs to name a few-new all the words-since I love country music!). I tried to get my Grams moving a little and did get to clap some and saw her mouth moving to one song!
If you have any ideas for fun things to do -let me know! Sherry from http://countrywingsinphoenix.blogspot.com/ has had some great ideas and encouragement for me. This is all so new for me-but I'm enjoying every minute of it! \

Pink Baby Bootie

I guess Cheryl from http://zany-mayd.blogspot.com/ sent some other goodies for Tete and me in our package of purchases. Inside was this pink baby bootie that Tete thinks is for me. I've got a milkglass one I can put this one with-wouldn't this be fun to use for a girl baby shower!

Hand and Body Cream Jar

Here's another thing that I liked from Cheryl at ZanyMayd and that Tete gave me. I had thought about buying this item to put in my pink camper to put treasures I find while camping. My sweet friend was generous and gave this to me-can't wait to fill it up with all the things my nieces and nephews and I find!

Pink Glittery Purse

I just can't do it-carry a boring, plain, black purse.... it's gotta be something big and something fun-and it doesn't hurt if it's pink either. Hope you're all enjoying the weekend-I got a three day weekend because of the extra days I worked at holiday time-I needed it!

Thinking of Spring

Well, I've had a hard time getting ready for spring-I think I'd like to hibernate for a couple more months. I just haven't felt much in the mood for doing anything. I'm sorry I haven't been around visiting -it's a chore to just post every day. I'm hoping that this will pass and I can get back to my energetic self(anyone that knows me thinks I go go go!). I just haven't cared about anything lately-maybe I'm changing. Part of this may be due to visiting my grandma in the nursing home-my priorities are changing-which is good! With the help of my BF Tete-I will work through this. Thanks for hanging in there with me-I want to catch up with everyone and get inspired again!

I bought these wonderful glasses a couple of months ago(one of my largest collections are floral glasses(and I've even sold a ton of them!)! A little spring flowers makes me smile!

My Valentine Gift from My Best Friend -Tete

I didn't know that my best friend Tete was getting me anything for Valentine's Day-she told me we would exchange gifts for Easter -so I was pleasantly surprised at all the fun stuff. He found the perfectly pink pancake mix on his own(he did good on that-since it was my favorite find this Valentine's Day!) and the other little goodies were so cute -I love it all!!-Thanks Steve! And a special handmade card from Tete! The cute little box has hersey kisses and I LOVE anything with reeses! You are both Awesome -and I love you both!

A Valentine's To Remember

Yesterday was kinda special to me for only one reason(my husband and I don't do anything!)because I went to see my Grandma Ella Mae in the nursing home. For those of you that don't know her(my Barn's named after her)-she's my mom's mom and I've been close to her all of my life.

She's always done special things for me-helped me make my junior prom dress-and then helped me cut a hole where the belly button was-that kind of thing your mom would never do! She was in the nursing home a few months back and then was able to go home. Her strength and health had improved and we were hope full she would get to stay there. But then a couple of weeks ago she got dehydrated and went into the hospital. She ended up back in the nurshing home and became less of herself.

You know how it goes-the days go by and you just don't take time to go and see her-that's how it was when she was at home. Work, home were just more important(or so I thought). Her going into the nursing home has been a real wake up call for me. I see what's really important-the moments we take each day -to make someone else happy-it returns to you-in ways you can't imagine.

Yesterday was really hard for me-I just kept looking around, seeing all those old people and realizing how quickly life goes and we're all going to be there one day in some shape and form.

I had been teasing my Grandma for several months that with her short hair(my mom cuts it for her) that I was going to spike it and paint it pink. Last week-in her little, tiny voice she said-paint my hair pink. So I went prepared yesterday to make her Valentine's Day memorable!
I sprayed her hair(the pink is great on her!) and painted her nails a glittery pink! Here's to you Grandma!

What are You Wearing For Valentine's

Every day since last Monday I've been wearing items with hearts on it-I should have taken pictures-Wednesday I wore the cutest grey hat with pink heartsFriday my tights looked like tatoos on my legs and Saturday my tights were black with red hearts and here's what I decided for Valentine's day-a simple pink dress with a little red heart on my check. The heart antlers weren't added till later-I actually borrowed them to take to the nursing home to visit my grandma(which I'll post pic's tomorrow!) Hope you all had a Wonderful Valentine's Day!

Valentine's in My Office

These huge pictures used to be used in the store several years ago-they were getting rid of them so I snagged them. The heart shaped boxes were probably used in cosmetics to put product in. The xoxo boxes were display boxes from Clinique years ago that I cabbaged onto-that's the extent of Valentine's in my office!
Hope you have a relaxing Sunday-I plan too!

Brach's Candyland Display

I fell in love with this display when I saw it, but now I don't know what to do with it. At first I thought I could hang vintage valentines off of it-but I became obsessed with finding only pink ones with candy logos(didn't find any) and then a co-worker had the great idea of using it for a candy bar when I have parties-so now I'm obsessed with finding the right containers to hang from it!!!! Clothes Brushes??????

I have these two brushes hanging on the wall in my hallway next to my vintage vacuum cleaner. I don't really know what they were intented for-maybe as a clothing brush. I don't think they're very old(maybe 70's-due to the colors), but I've never seen any other antiquing. I have them hanging together and really like the heart shaped one!
