When you're hosting a family reunion for 50 people-you need a lot of tables and chairs! My favorite table is this long one that I lined pink chairs up to-I think it was everyone's favorite too!
A little table for the wee folks! This one is a little shabby-but I paired it with two ice cream chairs-one pink -one white! I thought this would be cute for the little ones to eat at! I decided to add vintage aprons to these chairs at the last minute.
Well, I'm working on the finishing touches for tomorrow's reunion. Some of these people have never been to our home and for some-it's been 17 years(when we were married!) I'll be posting pictures tomorrow of the backyard set-up, but for now-here's a little vignette next to our smokehouse!
Yes-I know there is 6 chairs-I bought 4 chairs and a table(for only $10) and added two chairs of my own. When you see the before pics-you'll see why. We're having a reunion for 50 people this Saturday and I'm looking for extra tables and chairs to sit people at. I think this turned out pretty cute!
I covered the seats with just enough pink geranium material. Here is the before-ugly brown and stained seats. It took five coats to cover this ugly brown. I'm joining White Wednesday at http://fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com/
Do you remember my post on July 8th of last year? Well, I do. My brother in law called to ask if my husband wanted to go in and buy a trike for me so we could get a better deal(buying two wasn't that much more than one!) My husband (as always) said that I didn't need one. He now denies that-but believe me-I remember each and every time he says this. If it's something for the farm-by all means-we have to have it!
I guess I don't rate as high as my sister does to her husband cause he bought her one this year for her birthday! Her wonderful husband even bought her a pink/black jacket and the cutest helmet with butterflies on it! Doesn't she look cute!
And you should see her ride it (I took a video of that but it takes so long to load).
A fun project finally finished! I've been wanting to get this completed for month and finally took it to my Dad to get a wood back so I could cover it with wallpaper(thanks Dad!) Not that I haven't been working on a zillion projects in the last two months getting ready for a reunion at our house this Saturday-but it hasn't been anything I could call fun. I'm looking forward to August-with no home projects-only fun projects and lots and lots of time with friends!!
It's been horribly hot here and I've been working harder than ever trying to get ready for 50 people next Saturday. I've been doing everything I can around the house-paint, clean, organize, etc. and I'm ready for a break and some Ice Cream! The problem is WE DON"T HAVE ANY! This time of year it's hard to get it home(we're 15 minutes from town) before it melts! So my little pink ice cream cups sit empty! I'll have to get some when I'm back at work on Monday!
A couple of years ago on someone's blog, they were selling wish tickets. You could put them in a card or with a gift as an extra special wish. I haven't been able to find any of those-but I did find these really neat star tickets. I think they'll come in handy with my circus theme! Hope you have a great weekend!
I was digging around in my sale barn(Ella Maes) and found this 1953 Life Magazine and decided to flip thru some of the pages. Guess what I found! This really neat Cutex nail polish ad. It's perfect-Love you in Pink-Pink N Sassy and Pink N Sweet! How neat is that! I'm joining Pink Saturday at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/
Saw these cute little cones the other day and then had to remember where I saw them to go back and get them. I thought they'd be something fun to take camping for the kids to play with and then I can bring the bottles back and put them in my little pink fridge! Can't wait to smell them!
I think the kids will love these and they're not all pink so my nephew will like that!
I can't believe it!!! I found this in my own barn sale(Ella Mae's) yesterday. What was I thinking selling this pink stuff! It was in a cabinet. The plates are pyrex and the cup is fireking. Glad I discovered them before someone else wanted to buy them! Just too much stuff to keep track of! I'm joining Vintage Thingie Thursday at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/
I got this creamer and sugar for only $1.50 last week! Marked down from $8.00. I love the soft pink. If they weren't breakable-I'd use them in the camper! I've had these two pieces for a while now, but they were not much of a statement by themselves. I'm joining White Wednesday at http://fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com/
I recently was rummaging thru my garage and found these 3 piggy banks. The two on the left were my sister's and mine(I think mine was the pink one!). I picked up the one on the right at a garage sale sometime in the last couple of years. They bring back a lot of memories from my childhood. Don't know where my parent's got them-I'll have to ask if they remember! I'm joining Pink Saturday at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/
I'm spending so much time in the barn lately-so I've taken a lot of pictures. Here are some vintage bed frames for sale at the Ella Maes Barn. Bed Frames aren't just for the bedroom anymore either-a porch or in the yard are some fun ideas!
A few more goodies from the barn-love the spring colors of these. Wouldn't a whole collection be fun to sit around an outside table! I'm joining Outdoor Wednesday at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/
Aren't these cute? I think they would be great to store blankets in a bedroom or towels in a bathroom. One of the many items I have for sale at Ella Maes Barn Gathering! I'm joining White Wednesday at http://fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com/
I just had to post this pic(see Miss Maggie Mae at the table-waiting for some food). Anyway-today is my Mom's Birthday-she's a July Sparkler!!!!! And my sis's was Saturday! My sis got a SUPER COOL gift which I will post in a few weeks(it's still not here!). Happy Birthday to you both-I love you!
After posting my cake pan yesterday, I thought I would share with you a really yummy cake I made to take camping last weekend. For those of you that know me-I don't cook-but I am starting to bake a little-mostly pink stuff! Everyone loved this cake!!!
Picked up this cake carrier when my husband and I were antiquing on our anniversary. I went up to the counter to purchase it for $15 and found out it was half price! It's pretty heavy because of the glass bottom. It's in great shape too!
