Miss Kitty
Well here she is -my very first pet in my whole life(my mom wouldn't let us have pets growing up-but that's a sad story and not her fault!). So a year after my husband and I were married a guy from work needed to get rid of a cat(I don't like saying it that way) because his daughter was pregnant(her cat) and she wouldn't be able to take care of it(don't understand that either!) So I went over and she was the most beautiful angora (I think around 1 year old)cat I had ever seen! We brought her home and she hid for the first day and then developed this attitute-I'm a queen, a diva, don't get in my way... in fact.. she hissed when I even walked by her. She preceded to let all the other animals know who was boss for the next 16 years. She's never really lets me pet her and she's sooo soft(although her hairs getting worse this last year). She's taken to sitting on my lap at the computer(she there right now!) in her last year. I fear the end is near and it scares me... I love her soooooooooo much. There will never be another Miss Kitty. She has the most bitchy attitude that I love. And when she walks her tail goes up like one of those really fluffy feathers and just glides around and I will tell her that she looks like she has white go-go boots on(her fur is shorter on the bottom half of her legs!). I've taken to spoiling her as much as possible these days-feeding her all wet food and just kissing and petting her as much as possible-until she hisses and want to jump down. God's special gifts to us-love them as much as we can while they're here!

I picked this tree up a few years back at the local thrift store for $10. I love how it's more of a winter item than a Christmas tree. I'm still tempted to put on some pink snowflake ornaments though!

I think I'm going to have to make her a little bed!?!

Fun Gumball Display
Isn't this the cutest little display? I bought these fun pink candy shaped ornaments after christmas at Walmart and hadn't any idea what to do with them-and then I spyed this gumball display I got when I bought some perfume a couple of weeks ago!
Can you see the little gumball snow globe with the little skater girl. I bought it several years ago and just ran across it-I think they're fun paired together!
When I bought the perfume- I got this cute pink puffy purse! And below is the way the perfume came-it was only $30-a real steal for 3 bottles of perfume and a cute display and a pink purse!

My PInk Furry Sasquatch Boots
I saw these fun pink boots in a friend's Victoria Secret Catalog several years ago at work-I loved them at first site-but couldn't see parting with $130 for them(I usually don't spend that much on shoes-let alone pink furry boots)! I went home that night and couldn't get the darned things off my mind(obsessive I think) so I decided to bite the bullet and order the things-but when I got to work-the catalog had been thrown in the trash and I had no ordering number and it wasn't available on line! Well the hunt in me went in over-drive and I called Victoria Secret and we had to hunt for the number-apparently they weren't very popular and they weren't available-back-order for 2 month(but I wanted them now-this winter to wear!) They finally came in Mid February and I usually only get them out and wear them once a year( I want to enjoy them for years!) Sometimes I pair them with my hot pink Sasquatch T-shirt but I couldn't locate it that day. They are really warm though and they draw a lot of stares. I wore them with jeans to work and then changed into a skirt with tights and a fun white sweater-they looked huge then-Girls-we gotta have fun!!!!

Wish it were Pink Radio
I picked up this radio last Saturday when I was antiquing. I've been looking for a vintage pink one(passed one up at our mall for $40 a few years back). Truth be told, I have two pink new retro looking ones already, so I don't need another pink one. I bought this one to go in my new camper-it matches the stripes! I paid only $4.00 for it(it doesn't work so my dad will have to see if he can fix it!). It's fun looking though and worth the price.

Pink Striped Hat Box

Found this last Saturday when I went antiquing with a new friend-had to have it-$8.00. Saw a couple of others that I will probably be going back for. Always looking for storage this time of year and these fit two of my requirements-pink and old!
I've given myself a challenge for the next couple of weeks to go through my house and really look at what I can part with -so far-I've came up with 5 items each nite for the past 3 nites-not bad and I haven't even started on the really bad(crowded) rooms. I really need to do this with all the goodies that I've been bringing in!

Well-it's back to work today after a three day(much needed) weekend. It's been good -rest and a little cleaning/organizing on Friday, antiquing with a new friend Saturday(I'll show you what I got this week!), and Sunday lunch out, grocery shopping, and a few movies with my Honey! No excuses-but I love to have another day!
And I have so many pink slippers that are just calling my name to stay home today!

Love these two toned ones!
I thought I would share with you my vintage children's pink mitten collection. Of course I love all children's mittens(http://ellamaesbarngathering.blogspot.com/2011/01/antique-mitten-collection.html ), but the pink one's are extra special! This pair is the pinkest of them all!
These are the ones Tete bought me for Christmas!
I picked these up this fall for only $3 and I hang them on the doorknob!
I don't think these are old-but they're fun!

And the best for last- I bought this baby outfit several years ago at an antique store and had forgot about it. The set was packed away in a pink box! Isn't it precious!

Sleigh Ride Sheet Music
My new lasted collection/obsession is sheet music (at least it's small and inexpensive!). I'm now looking for different pieces I can display on my antique parlor organ through-out the year . I came across this one when I was looking for Christmas sheet music. Of course I love that it's pink, but I love that it kinda reminds me of our antique sleigh we display in our front yard for the holidays. It's a two seater also!

Pink Gifts From My Sis
My sister and I usually don't do much exchanging of Christmas gifts(we say that every year and we still do a little). She usually finds something I haven't seen in pink to give me. One year she gave me a tote bag filled with all kinds of pink things I could use at the shower house when we went camping. Last year it was pink office supplies. This year she got me this little desk calender.....
and this pink polka dot organizer box, pink duct tape(to take camping of course-but they're also doing some fun craft projects with it-like making purses!) and some pink tic-tacs!

A Pink Trench Coat and A Kidnapping Story!
First I wanted to ask you ladies out there if you've seen this coat at a Kohls near you? A co-worker of mine was wearing this coat and I simply fell in love with it. I've searched the Kohls website(no longer available), called Kohls customer service, checked ebay, and googled it. I think it was last summer's so it may not be around anymore-but if you spy it-send me an email. I'll call that store to see if they'll ship it to me(I love a good hunt-and of course a cute pink coat!). I also wanted to share this email that came to me about kidnapping. I hope you all take the time to read it-because something like that almost happened to me a few years ago.
NEW FORM OF KIDNAPPING Please take a minute to read this.
This is very scary and could happen to any of us.. Seems like every nice thing people do for one another can be perverted. A new twist on kidnapping from a very smart survivor:
About a month ago there was a woman standing by the mall entrance passing out flyers to all the women going in. The woman had written the flyer herself to tell about an experience she had, so that she might warn other women.
The previous day, this woman had finished shopping, went out to her car and discovered that she had a flat. She got the jack out of the trunk and began to change the flat. A nice man dressed in a business suit and carrying a briefcase walked up to her and said, 'I noticed you're changing a flat tire. Would you like me to take care of it for you?' The woman was grateful for his offer and accepted his help. They chatted amiably while the man changed the flat, and then put the flat tire and the jack in the trunk, shut it and dusted his hands off. The woman thanked him profusely, and as she was about to get in her car, the man told her that he left his car around on the other side of the mall, and asked if she would mind giving him a lift to his car.. She was a little surprised and she asked him why his car was on other side. He explained that he had seen an old friend in the mall that he hadn't seen for some time and they had a bite to eat, visited for a while, and he got turned around in the mall and left through the wrong exit, and now he was running late. The woman hated to tell him 'no' because he had just rescued her from having to change her flat tire all by herself, but she felt uneasy. (Trust that gut feeling!).
Then she remembered seeing the man put his briefcase in her trunk before shutting it and before he asked her for a ride to his car. She told him that she'd be happy to drive him around to his car, But she just remembered one last thing she needed to buy (Smart woman!!). She said she would only be a few minutes, he could sit down in her car and wait for her, and she would be as quick as she could be. She hurried into the mall, and told a security guard what had happened, the guard came out to her car with her, but the man had left. They opened the trunk, took out his locked briefcase and took it down to the police station. The police opened it (ostensibly to look for ID so they could return it to the man). What they found was rope, duct tape, and knives. When the police checked her 'flat' tire, there was nothing wrong with it; the air had simply been let out. It was obvious what the man's intention was, and obvious that he had carefully thought it out in advance. The woman was blessed to have escaped harm.
I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know. It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle. I was going to send this to the ladies only; but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc.., you may want to pass it on to them, as well. Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that The world we live in has a lot of crazies in it. Better to be safe than sorry.

The Bank Account and a Fur Poncho
First I wanted to share with you my weird outfit I wore on the first day of January(beginning of me wearing fur each day-I'm weird-I know). I have this really soft and PINK poncho that I decided to wear as a skirt. It worked out perfectly(I don't think many people knew!) and I got several compliments. Think outside the box-it's fun. Secondly, I was sent this email and one of my goals this year is to be more inspirational to others-and it's a good one-so read on!
BANK ACCOUNT!!! This is AWESOME ... something we should all remember.
A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today.
His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.
After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.
As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.
"I love it," he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
"Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait."
"That doesn't have anything to do with it," he replied.
Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time.
Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it.
'It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.
Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away. Just for this time in my life. Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in.
So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories!
Thank you for your part in filling my Memory Bank.
I am still depositing.
'Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3.. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.

Shoes, Shoes, and More Shoes
O.K. Girls out there-how many of you have seen the Marie Antoinette movie with Kirsten Dunst? I soooooooooo love that movie. All the eye candy is sure to make a girl's head swoon! And of course being a shoe and clothing lover I couldn't resist all the fun things she got to wear. So a while back I decided I wanted to do a post with all my fun, glittery shoes while I had them out in December to wear. So here's the inspirational pic.....
And here's my mess-I just didn't have it in me to try and stage the whole thing. I was ready to get them all back in their little boxes and say goodbye to the glitter days of December(for those of you who don't know I wore a glittery outfit every day of the week-yes-especially to work!). It's my most fun time of the year for dressing up and everyone either thinks I'm crazy(like Cinderella escaped from the ball and is going shopping) or they like it and smile. So my little fun pic I wanted to take just didn't happen the way I planned(still too tired to put the effort in) but there's always next year!

Here's the other inspirational pic I love.........

Here's the other inspirational pic I love.........
And here's my hoard(not always a bad word) of shoes....
A close up of my beauties

Now I'm on to the month of wearing fur clothing(and of course -none of it's real)!
I'd really like to know what fun, crazy, and silly things you Girls like to wear at there!!! Leave me a comment and let me know!

Little Pink Highchair
I haven't shown you much from my birthday shopping spree in December but I think I got enough new pink stuff for two months of pink Saturdays(like I didn't have enough already!). The first mall we stopped at had this little pink and blue high chair-I thought it was so fun. It's kinda lopsided, but was half off of $10.00-so I had to have it. I think it would make a fun piece to use for the different seasons-I can see a christmas tree in it, a bunny rabbit, a plant, and of course a little doll.
