Pink Volkswagon

My best friend Teresa colored this photo for me. I love it. Now I need to convince my mom to paint her's pink(not) or get my husband to buy me one(maybe, please?)!

Fine Ride!

Well, when the cat's away the mice will play or at least take my mom's Volkswagen convertible. Finally I get to drive it after several years. It all started with our last camping trip when my dad brought up that the girls(my sister and I) never get to drive it. Well, she's (my mom) always driving it or when we would mention it-it was not an option. Within one week of the conversation my mom and dad were going on a short trip and my mom had called to say I could drive it. YEH! No time to waste. I took it too work and took all the managers to lunch and after work decided I needed to drive it home. Nothing like the free feeling of driving with the top off! Only too bad it's not PINK. Thanks Mom-hope you had a good trip!

Auntie Jo's Treasures

My husband's Auntie Jo has moved into a retirement home and she is going thru the items that she cannot take. She doesn't have any kids-just neices and nephews who are helping her sort out and decide where everything will go. She is a great family historian and has saved many family items. We've been lucky to get some items from the Zimmerman's who built and lived in our house. I'll post those later. Here are some items I was able to bring home. More tomorrow! An old blue scale-I snatched this up for our blue kitchen.

Lots of little vintage items-Easter and Christmas. Notice the circus elephant!

Love these books. Mary Joan Coon written on the inside -1929 and 1930. The Beacon Primer-an old school book. The Kelpies -which I think is like the old Fairy Books. Little Eskimo and a book on How to Decorate Halls-Booths and Automobiles from 1923- a really neat book!

Already thinking about Halloween-saw these items and couldn't resist.

Antique Wicker Baby Buggy

I have a small antique wicker doll buggy that I bought last year but I've been always looking for a baby buggy with some old details. I've been beat to the chase two times this year-once at the antique mall where I have a booth -I was just going inside to inquire about a brown wicker one that was out front and someone inside had just bought it- and yesterday a neighbor to someone having a garage sale had just bought a black one. Then of all things -yesterday-I come across this one. It's not in the best shape-but it will be fun to play with. I'm not sure what the plans are yet-any ideas?

Striped Tent

What is it with striped tents - I've become obsessive about them. I can't handle putting up any more tents for the barn sales and where else would I use them. I love the little size of this one though. I have a friend that is a great seamstress and her husband could make the frame out of pvc piping. Isn't it great to have talented friends. They made my lifesize horse for my hearse last year. I'll have to think on this one!

Circus Inspiration

I'm looking for inspiration everywhere and anywhere. I'm going crazy looking for a project. I think it might be fun to make a few signs-but what will they say?

A Father's Day Story

Friday nite -we were camping-I put out a lot of stuff when I go along with an awning that is made of cloth and not vinyl. My husband called me about 10:00 to tell me that there were severe storms in the area and they would arrive sometime between midnite and 3:00 am. I was too tired(from all the heat) to prepare for it. I did say a prayer-please God don't let the storms hit us at the campground. I thought that would suffice. I went to sleep without another thought about it. At around 12:15 I was awakened with the horrible sound of thunder(at least it's horrible when you're camping with tons of stuff everywere). I jumped up, thru on some pants, and went outside to try and get inside what I could. Not even a minute after I was outside-here comes my dad. The odds of him seeing my lights go on from a few campsites away is nothing but God sent. He was asleep and there are several trees between us, but God woke him up and there he was to help me and he didn't even say a thing about all my stuff. He just went to work with me to get as much in as possible! That's what Father's are made of -unconditional love and always a helping hand-just like our Father above!

Baby it's hot out there!

Bouncing Bet or Soapwart Gooseneck Loosestrife
Love both of these plants!

I got this little 70's side table at a thrift store a couple of weeks ago. I've bought 3 other pieces like it and transformed 2 of them with white paint. It really makes the details pop out. I think they kinda have a baroque look to them and could go with cottage or modern decorating.
Another painting job done!

Pink/White Barrel

Update-my friend Teresa didn't like the black rings around the top and bottom and suggested aqua. I really like it a lot better~!
Well, after I painted the multi-color barrel yesterday my friend Teresa says-why not paint one white and pink (why didn't I think of that?). So today's project was the pink/white barrel. I can use this at the barn or with the camper!

Pink Birdcages!!!!!!!

Bought these last year already painted pink. Not sure what they were used for or what I"ll use them for, but they're kinda neat.
Got this at a garage sale about a month ago. It needed color. I started painting it aqua. Didn't look right.
Pink -of course-why didn't I think of that first.

Love this Floor!

Tree Limb Down

After the storm last nite I was just sitting in the house and I heard a loud sound (I thought it was a clap of thunder). My husband arrived home a few minutes later and we had a huge limb down. It didn't cause too much damage but it did break out a window on our back porch.
