A few weeks ago I was at a thrift store and my eyes saw this little charmer! She had a twin, but I didn't take her(was I wrong to seperate them? And now she's gone-but I'm trying to control myself!). I don't know what time period she comes from, but I think she's a pajama doll-the kind you put on your bed. She's in perfect condition and I think she makes a great winter decoration since she's all decked out in her fur!

ReplyDeleteHugs,

She's adorable. Doesn't that bug you when you see something, don't buy it, think about it, go back to buy it, and it's long gone! I've done that so many times.
ReplyDeleteWherever you put her will be perfect! Susan
Wow! What a blast from the past! Like linda, I have not seen one of those in years.
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by from Junkin Party!! How cute! I've never heard of one of those! Don't you hate when you pass something up and then can't stop thinking about it??? You go back and it is gone so your sad the rest of the week!!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is that little pink doll! They don't make dolls like they used to. I'm amazed she is still in such good condition. She looks so old and fragile!

ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I have seen one too! We had dogs that you put your night gown in when I was growing up.I wonder why someone let her go? She is adorable. Nice find!~Ames
ReplyDeleteI think she's from the 50's, because that's when I saw them and well...I'm a boomer from the 50's!!!
ReplyDeleteI noticed when you put the addresses to your parties up, you wrote the whole thingy...If you want to...go up to the icons on top of your blogger window to where it says 'LINK' and after you've written the name of the blog you're linking too, copy their address into the 'link' space and vola!!! Try it, I think you'll like it!!! I hope my directions were okay and not clear as MUD! Let me know if it works! Also, thank YOU so much for visiting my blog and your kind words, I appreciate it lots! Hugs, Debbie @ Cottage Hann~Me~Downs
My Mom would know more about these kind of dolls.....she sure is cute. I hope her twin found as good of home. Rebecca I have so enjoyed my break. What I have learned for me, is moderation is the key..I am much better now. Now go kiss your hubby and snuggle a bit:)
ReplyDeleteYou are correct it is a pajama bag. The other ladies are also correct, it is from the fifties. I received one for Christmas when I was about seven.
ReplyDeleteWonder what ever happened to it.
Thanks for visiting my site. I do so appreciate all those that come to call.
Happy Pink Saturday Rebecca Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh what a beautiful share you have today. I remember getting one just like her. It was in the early 60's. I kept it for the longest time, and yes it was a great way to stuff our pj's away until bedtime. I thought it was the greatest thing ever. Like it was so hard to put them in our drawer hu?
Beautiful share as always. I love to come and see what you have found, and what you are up to. Have a gorgeous Pink Saturday Sweetie.
Many hugs and so much love, Sherry
OH NO! You should NEVER separate twins! I am a twin...you could have sent her to me as a replacement for my sister who is overseas!! I LOVE HER!! Absolutely too stinkin adorable! Please visit me... I am new to Pink Saturday this week. Thanks so much... Jennifer Grenko

ReplyDeleteI had one just like that when I was a little girl. I got her for Christmas 1961, I put my PJ's in it and she sat on my canopy bed for years. I kept her for a long time. Brings back great memories. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny! I bought the other doll. Just kidding! I hate when that happens. Hugs, Liz
ReplyDeleteI have never seen one of these pajama dolls but it is very cute! Somebody must have really taken good care of it, it is in great shape. That was a real find for a thrift store.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
Jane
She is so cute! I had a pajama doll when I was a child. Such a fun idea. I too have left things and gone back only to find them no longer there. But someone else is probably as happy as you to have this little pajama doll. I wonder if they belonged to twin sisters? ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten about pajama dolls. The one you found is the cutest. It would make a great decoration for winter1
ReplyDeleteShe's adorable! And in such amazing shape! I had one very similar when I was little in the early 60's...So I think she's 50's to early 60's. But how could you leave her twin???! Was it because she was "blue" *winks* Vanna
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday!! Thank you for visiting my blog today.

ReplyDeleteHappy PS,
Jacalyn
Well you know how sisters can be...they may be happy to have a break from each other after all these years. Who knows? There may be a family reunion in your future.
ReplyDeleteHappy PS!

ReplyDeleteHi Rebecca...
ReplyDeleteOhhh...seeing your pretty pink pillow/pajama doll brought back sooo many fond memories to me! I used to have one very similar in the early 60's! Yes, we would slip our pj's in the pretty little doll when making up the bed and we were good to go! Hehe! She sure is a beauty...thank you for sharing her with us for Sat. favorites!
Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design
