Vintage Ceramic Aladdin lamp planter???

I bought this unusual thingie-which looks like an Aladdin lamp. Possibly from the 60's. It was cheap and pink so I had to have it!

    It could be a lamp or gravy bowl. Regardless, it is an interesting piece.

    I think it's for a plant. Gosh it is pink. Wondering if it is from the era when even kitchens were pink... say early 1950's??
