The Movie "Rebecca"
I just got my present for my BDay from my BF Tete yesterday-the movie "Rebecca". It's an older one made from the book "Rebecca" by Daphne Du Maurier. Set back in the 1930's, it's a story of romance, suspense, and jealousy. If you haven't seen this movie(or read the book-it's better!), it would be a good viewing for the wintertime. I chose this book to read for an Honor's English class I had in high school because I thought it was cool that it had my name. Little did I know until I read the book that "Rebecca" in the book was evil. Since I don't want to ruin the book for you-I'll leave it at that-Happy viewing or reading-I'm sure you'll like it! Thanks Tete!

Merry Pink Christmas-Little Pink Stove
Christmas Morning-Love that fireplace-had to have something for Santa come! Do you see the pink stove? I asked my mom if we still had it(probably not). She kept some of our dolls-but I'll be getting into the attic this spring to see if I can find it(you all know I need another pink stove(I also bought one on my birthday this month!)

The True Meaning Of Christmas
I hope everyone can take the time this Christmas season to really think about why we celebrate the season. Of course, I'm really talking to myself mostly. Working retail can really take the focus out of the birth of Jesus Christ. Usually I try to go to several church services and to help decorate the church. For some reason this year(excuses are not good enough) I haven't done any of that. I always try to make it to a Christmas Eve service also-but again -work will take precedence. So I'm spending some time this morning thinking about the best gift that was ever given! Merry Christmas to you all and Happy Birthday Jesus! Several years ago(junior high?) -I played Mary in a church play.

LIttle Houses in a Winter Wonderland
I used to put my little house around a white glass conservatory that I have and some inside, but this year I decided to do what Martha Stewart did a few years ago in her magazine. I picked this cool stand up at a store closing a couple of years ago at a garage sale and knew it would be perfect for displaying my little houses. It still needs some finessing-but it will do for this year!Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!!

Vintage Ornaments in my Office
I have a few vintage ornaments I keep in my office in a antique glass pedestal dish. They just give me that extra little Christmas uplift when I'm tired of being in the commercialism of retail. I like the little plastic domes with figures in them and also that green shaped one that looks like a merry-go-round!

Antique Pink/White Baby Stockings Addition
Well I have two more additions to my collection of antique baby stockings!!!!! I was so excited yesterday when my hubby took my antiquing for my B-day and these stockings I saw over a year and a half ago were still there(they were kinda expensive-maybe that's why). But hey-we only have a birthday once a year and my hubby said get them-and I was going to anyway-that's one reason I wanted to go back to this mall!!!! They were waiting for me and to join there new home! They're very heavy and the dealer's card said they were from Pennsylvania. Next year I'm going to have to come up with a fun way to display them all-any idea? I though maybe a baby mantle to put them all on??? This is the pic I showed for the Second Hand collection at Tete's Beyond the Garden Gate's Party!

Silver Saturday
Every Saturday for the month of December we have a color theme-today was silver Saturday. I wore my grey/silver dress with my silver glitter heels(they look like Dorothy shoes). I got to model jewelry at work(hince the all the extra bracelets and necklaces-but I sold a bunch!). I really liked the silver and pink necklaces that I had on! My hose were fishnets with silver glitter in them too!

Pink Baby Stocking
Two great combos-pink and stockings-I think these are so cute and have been collecting them(when I see them!) for the last several years-even little babies need a stocking hung by the fireplace(like they did in the old days-took off they're own to hang up!). I'll be adding this to Tete-Beyond the Garden Gate's (http://tete-beyondthegardengate.blogspot.com) Second Hand Collection Party for this Sunday along with another huge stocking collection I'll post on my Ella Maes Barn Gathering Blog-so come on over and join the fun-remember a collection is only 3 items!

Antique Stocking
I bought a pair of antique stockings at an antique store last week for $4.50. They're my favorite stockings for hanging on the mantle(if I did-which I don't because we have a wood burning stove and my husband won't let me)-but sometimes I hang them on the stairway banister. I have a collection of them(started when I was decorating the Rutherford House) because that is what they used to use in the 1800's-their own socks-and they sometimes would hang them on the end of their bed. I like to add things that they might have been given-this is a ladies stocking-so I've added a book titled The Secret to a Happy Life, a gold fold-up hair comb, a rhinestone hair comb, a round sequined hair pin, antique talcom powder and a silver clothing brush. It's fun to find things to put in them-you'll be seeing the entire collection on Sunday at the Second Hand Collection Party on Tete's Beyond the Garden Gate's Blog. Oh Little Christmas Tree
Since I don't put a tree up in the house-I decided to put one up in my office. I actually have had this tree in there because a co-worker borrowed it to use as a money tree-where you clip money to it for showers. I found some decorations I had picked up over the last few years and don't use at home(I guess I bought them because they were pink!) and decided to take them to work. I know it's crazy-but I really don't use any pink in my home-even though it's my favorite color! I still have a few things to add to the tree-but it brings a little whimsical cheer to my office! The clock pics(there are four total) I put up when I first got the job of HR manager-I thought it was need since I managed all the time punches.

Another Day at Work
Well-since I don't get to the holiday parties-I dress up every day in the month of December-wearing, as I mentioned in an earlier post, something with glitter. Today I had on my black glitter shoes and black glitter shrug. Today, everyone was supposed to wear red-and I always wear this dress-but everyone kept saying it was pink. It's a pinkish-red I guess-I was teased all day!

Pink Glittery Shoes
How many pairs of pink glittery shoes does one girl need? As many as she wants-I say-speaking from a shoe whore(with over 300 pairs). Do I wear these?-the answer is YES-and every day for the month of December you'll see me with my glitter on-it's my way to make my day more fun(and bearable) and the customers love it! A fun Way to Rock in the Season!
